Sound Therapy Sessions
All living things are comprised of energy. Sound is comprised of vibrations and the root of vibration is energy. Therefore, sound is a powerful instrument used to entrain and rebalance the energies within the body. Through meditation, chanting, instruments and rudimentary singing, one can access the different energy points (chakras) throughout the body.
By activating and accessing the chakras, the body can reclaim its optimal energy. In addition, by aligning one’s conscience state with the inner realms and subtleties of the body, it can allow for a more balanced and attuned state of being.
What is Sound Therapy or Sound Healing? Sound Therapy/Healing/Work is a form of Energy Work. Sound is comprised of vibration and vibration is comprised of energy. Therefore, using sound as an energy medium or messenger, allows direct and immediate access to the human body’s energy system. Sound works, because we are all made up of sound – really!! All of our bio-rhythms, organs, breath, voice etc. have their own resonating, sound frequency. Sound moves energy, sound IS moving energy and sound IS a living energy. Therefore, as Sound Practitioners, we use sound as a gateway to harness energy directly within the human body, and its surrounding, energy fields.
Are you someone that would benefit from Sound Therapy?
Yes, yes, and yes – truly! Almost everyone can benefit from Sound Therapy, because it allows the body to re-balance its energy system! Sound Therapy elicits deep relaxation, which, thus, helps to reduce stress and common, stress-related problems. In addition, many of us have past or current, emotional traumas or upsets that can cause “stuck” energy within the body, and Sound Therapy can help work through these places of blocked energy, which allows for better “flow” within your own, energetic make-up and energy field.
What is a Sound Therapy Session like?
Very relaxing! Most times, you will sit in a comfy, upright chair (although, sometimes participants enjoy lying down.) Sound Therapy Sessions are extremely meditative, as it’s a time for you to fully relax and engage with your subconscious, which will guide you to certain energy points within your body that may need some uplifting or even calming. I use my singing voice for most of the sessions, which participants report to greatly, greatly enjoy and cherish! In addition to my own singing, I use my beloved, quartz crystal singing bowl, tibetan bells, tibetan bowl, or elk drum to better enhance your own bio-rhythms and connection within your own, energy field. Often times, participants will also engage in basic toning and/or chanting to help move targeted energies within the body. (You do not need to be a “singer” to do this, as your voice is very powerful in unlocking your own energies!) There is also lots of guided imagery to help enhance your ability to engage with your own internal and external energy fields.
Every culture on our planet uses sound or a method of sound in some fashion – either for inspiration, religion, healing, communication, aligning, insight, self-awareness, connection and more! We are inherently drawn to sound, because we are made up of sound – literally!
